Meet Mr. Love & Mrs. You and Their Wonderful Planet
I've worked on this children's book a while ago called
'Meet Mr. Love and Mrs. You and Their Wonderful Planet'.
It's a little "day in the life" story about an alien couple who live on a planet made of sweets and candy. It's a fantastical setting where you'll just never know what they'll come across or what they'll do next. It's a colourful adventure filled with fun times and happy faces, perfect for any little children's bedtime story! ^^
It was a project I completed for one of my final major projects in university, but it was for a real client who intended to publish it for real.
But in a stroke of bad timing, before the client could settle on getting the Kickstarter campaign ready to help get the book published, he and his wife had an unexpected pregnancy. And thus the project was left on the shelves to focus and prepare for their new little daughter.
But finally, after about 10 months of so of waiting, it seems my client, Martin Small, has
finally begun to get the Kickstarter campaign underway.
Which is really, REEEAALLLY fortunate for me as I'm in a bad spot for money right now. As a freelance illustrator, finding work is hard, but sometimes getting the right compensation for it is even harder.
I was not paid to illustrate the book, as it was a university project. But Martin Small wants to write more children's books, and he seems really interested in having me be the illustrator for his future books, which he will pay me for. This could be a long-term relationship that I desperately need right about now.
And it all hinges on this Kickstarter campaign being a success.
Please, I beg those of you who are reading this, if you have any interest in children's books or reading material, check out the Kickstarter campaign and donate however much you want. Or even spread the word about it to as many people as you can, especially parents and children's book readers, so that awareness of the book can flourish and the funding can hopefully make it to the intended goal.

I don't have much in the way of returning the favour, but if you do donate, please let me know and I'll keep your name in mind so that I can make it up to you somehow.
Thank you. ^^
