Hello! I'm Maiji, a Taiwanese-Canadian artist and writer who loves making and reading comics and zines.

I've heard so many nice things about SpiderForest, and have been meaning to check out the community for a long time. I've actually not been active on forums for many years, work/life being a major reason. But I love the idea of engaging with other passionate and hardworking comics creators, and hope to be able to do so a little more regularly outside of events/shows.  

A bit of relevant info about me: My main project right now is Now Recharging, which I've been working on since 2015. It's a slice-of-life story that takes place in an ordinary world where sentient/sapient robots are an accepted matter of fact, and follows the adventures of a little child-like android who is figuring out lots of things about life and living. It runs at NowRecharging.com (currently hosted at Smack Jeeves, but as you may know they made some changes recently so I'm in the process of moving) and also GoComics (about 1 chapter behind).

I also periodically update AAtoast!, which is a tumblr that shares information and event news for Canadian-based artists that spun off years ago out of helping other artists who wanted to exhibit at the Anime North convention in Toronto. I'm not able to create content for it as frequently as I used to, but I think a lot of the posts there (especially the "Toasted" posts and more detailed Q&As) are still fairly evergreen and hopefully useful to anyone interested in doing shows!

I spotted the Discord icon when I was signing up and saw it being mentioned in a few places on the forums! I remember trying it a while back as part of a tumblr fandom project I was participating in. It ended up being a bit much for me at the time but I'll try to manage my own expectations and take a look
