 MARCH Theme = Weather
Write a scene or complete a picture having to do with the weather.
Suggestions: Remember "March marches in like a lion and out like a lamb?" , Spring blossoms, snowed in, storm's coming, sunburn...

 Re: MARCH Theme = Weather
"But... but... IT WAS MELTED!!! WHY?!" Not, alas, how it looks outside. Outside, we have about two and a half feet of snow thanks to one heck of a storm yesterday. x_x I'm not kidding. If I was eight I'd be ALL over it. I already could barely resist jumping in and making tunnels, and only because my feet hurt. I settled for collapsing into the depeest drift and making a me shaped hole in the snow before staggering back inside because I was falling asleep right there. Wow, snow drifts on warm (by warm I mean like, two degrees C.) days are comfortable...

 Re: MARCH Theme = Weather
Hi all ! We're new here and would've liked to post some of our work too (oghme is Cathbad (illustrator) + Mirlikovir (script)) It's not strictly speaking Weather, rather times of days, but we hope it will fit here. These images portray the capital city of Ulster in ancien Ireland, Emain Macha, and the "three houses of king Conchobar, also called the 'three branches of Conchobar') Noon : (in the center, the Red Branch, house of the king, on the left, the Branch of Many Colours, where warrior's weapons were kept) Dusk : (same disposition as previous image, closer angle) Midnight (on the bald mountain?) : (the Purple Branch, a sanctuary where the corpses of warriors were kept, our vision of the Irish site of 'Navan Fort') Hope you like it.

 Re: MARCH Theme = Weather
@KEZ : thank you for the appreciation. We're a bit overwhelmed for the time being, but we promise we'll post more in this excellent forum of yours (but we read it!). And we'll pop by on your webcomics this WE for a hello. Have read all War of Winds, and like it ! Making characters out of winds was a brilliant idea ! @perk_daddy : thanks ! Glad to join the board I have to catch up on Cooties too ! It's 2AM here in France, I have a baby waking up at 6, got to go to bed ! @ Tiana : What a rude fellow I am. I didn't even tell you how much I like your drawing. It has a kind of surreal look to it. Not impressionist, not... ehhh... very... ehh... oh dammit, just stop the comparisons. It captures the instant, those blessed moments when you look up through your window, and the sun casts that "wow" light & shadow atmosphere you already know you'll never ever exactly see the same. And woosh it's gone. Then you grab your cold mug of coffee, take a sip, and just feel elated. (Gosh 2.30 AM !)

 Re: MARCH Theme = Weather
@oghme: Goodness, that's probably one of the best comments I've ever received! (I mean, nothing against all the others) I guess all the detailed comments I leave has finally paid off and I've received one myself! XD
Man, I know what you mean with those moments. For me, the moments were this morning, as I walked out to the van so mom could drive me to work and she said 'look, hoarfrost' and I looked and stared for about five seconds at this branch covered in tiny bits of frost, and said 'this'll be gone in the morning'--then got into the van and left.
All that's left of that moment is the memory of it.
Or looking out the window for two seconds to see the water tower buried in fog. Or standing with a mop in my hand, staring out the glass doors to the open fields, the sun just barely beginning to warm the land, fog pressing down over everything, everything snowy and foggy and the sun just beginning to break through--and I knew that in half an hour the sun would've fully risen and taken away that misty, breathless moment...
Then I have to move on. Because I'm not paid to stare at the pale pink fog with the sunlight creeping through and glistening in that foggy air.
It's just THRILLING.
Myself, I love the use of colors in your pictures. You take a color scheme and you meld it together to create both a setting and a mood. Hot, cold, warm... each picture is chilling in their own way. They're more surreal than those moments where you glance outside, but they carry with them the echos of color and light. I love how you take a fairly simple color scheme and pull something so detailed out of it.

 Re: MARCH Theme = Weather
Hi Tiana, A very quick answer because I'm leaving for Venice with my wife tomorrow, and there's still million things to do. I can see we share the same vision about hose blessed moments ! BTW, We feature one illustration we really like, every week, on our home web site. Would you accept to show it there ? Only thing we need is a direct link to the illustration on a web-site of yours where the image is displayed. We provide a thumnail on the home page with a direct link. (here is a good place if you don't host it elsewhere). I won't be likely to access a computer before sunday april 12, but I'll read your answer asap. See U all next week, I'm off (if the plane doesn't crash)

 Re: MARCH Theme = Weather
Aw, I don't have it on my comic's gallery, where I usually direct traffic, but that's okay, I have it on DeviantArt now. http://calthyechild.deviantart.com/art/ ... -118815048Nice to meet someone else who shares the opinion of those moments. That said, I hope your plane didn't crash! o_________o
